About Dr. Mesaros

Dr. John D. Mesaros is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience across pediatrics, child psychiatry, and adult psychiatry. He trained at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine and completed a research fellowship at the National Institute for Mental Health's Laboratory of PET Scanning before completing a Child Psychiatry and Research Fellowship at Wayne State University.

Dr. Mesaros has directed outpatient and day treatment programs, provided telepsychiatry for children and adolescents, and currently maintains a private child and adult psychiatry practice in Oakland, California, with a specialty focus on transgender health for youth and adults. He also supervises nurse practitioners and provides part-time telepsychiatry services.
